The new Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight motorcycle is a factory custom in the legendary tradition of the hot rod Sportster line with the raw, elemental appeal of the Dark Custom™ bikes.
Riding low with a slammed suspension and featuring the classic 2.1-gallon "peanut" fuel tank, the Forty-Eight backs up its bulldog appearance with the performance of its blacked out and polished rubber-mounted Evolution® 1200 cc V-Twin engine. The low solo seat, under-mounted mirrors, side mount license plate, clean rear fender and tall and fat front tire emphasize the Forty Eight’s focus on chiseled customization.

And while the Forty-Eight model may break bad when it comes to radical attitude and straight-on style, it won’t break the bank starting at just $10,499 MSRP in Vivid Black.
"With its classic bulldog shoulders stance, the Forty-Eight strikes a distinctive look and low profile that could only come from Harley-Davidson," said Ray Drea, Harley-Davidson Senior Director of Styling. "The Forty-Eight model has a collective past life experience and broken-in look that is raw and authentic."

The Yamaha YZF-R1 bike, launched in 1998, revolutionized the sport bike landscape by successfully combining the awesome power available previously in the true liter class (1,000cc) with the lightweight and responsiveness that a 600-class chassis afford.

2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000 Review
Introducing the new 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000. Faster evolution is a hallmark of the GSX-R1000’s engine. Reaffirming the legendary motorcycle’s claim to the top are improved throttle response, increased power and acceleration at mid-range engine speeds, and better fuel economy.
The GSX-R1000 offers incredible engine performance from idle to red line, smoother suspension performance, even more responsive handling and superior braking performance - everything needed to Own The Racetrack.

Chassis enhancements deliver even better control. And styling refinements evoke the performance and handling advances.
Faster evolution is a hallmark of the GSX-R1000’s engine. Reaffirming the legendary motorcycle’s claim to the top are improved throttle response, increased power and acceleration at mid-range engine speeds, and better fuel economy.
The 2012 GSX-R1000’s engine combines advances in design, performance, and fuel efficiency with the fundamental elements that helped to create the GSX-R legend. Key benefits include better throttle response, more power and acceleration at mid-range engine speeds, and approximately 8% better fuel economy*.
The single exhaust and a revised exhaust-pipe length enhance output at low and mid-range engine speeds, so acceleration is quicker. Advances inside the engine begin with the pistons. The benefits are more torque and better acceleration at low and mid-range engine speeds, better throttle response, and lower fuel consumption. Here too, the benefits are more torque and better acceleration at low and mid-range engine speeds, better throttle response, and lower fuel consumption.
The reduced inertial mass gave Suzuki the freedom to optimize the valve lift curve. Consequently, Suzuki used MotoGP technologies to revise the exhaust cam profile for a slight reduction in valve overlap (the period when the intake and exhaust valves are both open), thereby increasing the engine’s racetrack performance potential.
Suzuki adopted race-proven specifications and technologies elsewhere in the engine. The shaft positions allow the engine to be optimally short from front and rear. An engine control module ( ECM ) provides state-of-the-art engine management and has newly optimized settings to suit the engine refinements and single muffler.
As the rider opens and closes the primary valve, the ECM reads the throttle position, engine speed, and gear position and incrementally adjusts the secondary valve to maximize the intake-charge velocity. The ECM thereby enhances combustion efficiency, makes throttle response more linear, and improves low-end and mid-range torque.
The secondary injector is aimed at the secondary throttle valve and operates to add fuel for high-engine-speed, high-load conditions. A Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) servo-controlled butterfly valve in the exhaust pipe helps to maximize torque throughout the rev range in diverse running conditions by optimizing the exhaust-system back-pressure in accordance with the engine speed, throttle position, and gear position. An ECM-controlled Suzuki Pulsed-secondary AIR-injection (PAIR) system injects fresh air from the airbox into the exhaust ports in accordance with the engine speed and throttle position, thereby further reducing emissions by promoting the ignition of unburned HCs .
The unique Suzuki Drive Mode Selector ( S-DMS ) system allows the rider to select from three fuel-injection and ignition-system maps, thereby adjusting power delivery to suit personal preferences.
The “C” setting yields relatively soft throttle response throughout the throttle-opening range by reducing engine power.
With superior balance and precise control, the GSX-R1000 rider can take maximum advantage of the winning performance.
The 2012 GSX-R1000’s chassis represents an evolution in terms of cornering and stopping performance—an evolution that gives the rider even greater control and allows the rider to take better advantage of the engine performance.
Evolutionary advances can be seen in the front brakes, front forks, front and rear tyres , and front axle. Increased piston diameters mean better braking performance. The calipers and discs are 130 grams lighter overall.
Superior braking performance combines with hard-braking stability yielded by enhanced front forks to realize great capability on the racetrack. The shock has adjustable rebound damping, spring preload , and high-speed and low-speed compression damping.
Thanks to Suzuki’s uncompromising efforts to shave excess weight, the 2012 GSX-R1000 is 2kg lighter than its predecessor. The lower weight and precise weight balance allow higher speeds on straightaways and corners, so they translate into faster laps.
A narrow lower fairing also cuts drag. Newly evolved styling details evoke the bike’s newly enhanced performance and handling. Own The Racetrack.

* Optimised camshaft profiles for great racing potential, developed using proven MotoGP racing engine technology.
* The lightweight and high-grip front and rear tyres reduce unsprung weight for sharp handling.
* 999cm3 4-cylinder engine with Bore x Stroke of 74.5mm x 57.3mm brings enhanced throttle response across the entire rpm range and high potential for racetrack performance.
The compact engine enabled short wheelbase and 32mm long swingarm at the same time to improve racetrack performance.
* Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM)-plated cylinders integrated into the upper crankcase, reduce friction and improving heat transfer, durability and ring seal.
* 12-hole fuel injectors produce a fine fuel mist for more complete combustion, reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.

Large, efficient radiator with a trapezoidal shape developed on Suzukis factory team race bikes and a trapezoidal engine oil cooler both help reduce drag.
* The rear brake system with single-piston calliper contributes to a reduction of unsprung weight.
* Rear shock absorber features adjustable rebound damping, spring preload, and both high-speed and low-speed compression damping.
* Electronically controlled steering damper provides lighter steering at slower speeds and more damping force at racetrack and highway speeds.

No more powerful features of the 2003 Suzuki Raider. Starting from the front to rear, this bike has changed completely. Instead the result so extreme, with some elements of the technology changes. Like condoms tank lid can be opened using keys, that one is a teroboson. At the very least, a breakthrough modifications in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

Home modifications Irfandi from Pontianak in 2XP “Equator City” made a bold move. Consider the attached seat on the house from the original exhaust Ducati 969. Meanwhile, the bottom-distance with the wheels still empty. “Indeed, the design was not able to fit,” said Irfandi.

Plus the arm (swing arm) are large and sturdy, while the framework for and the seat is thin, the harmonization was a little disturbed. “In the arm, I use the pro arm of Honda NSR SP and condoms to be given greater,” explained Irfandi.

To the top, using a subframe which modifikator is knock down because he wanted to make a long tail. If you get bored, then it could be dismantled extra-pair. To integrate additional context, he uses the L bolt size of 8 mm 6 pieces. “In addition to booster seats, it also became a kind of bracket for the exhaust,” said senior modifikator.

Realized there was a wide cavity, he cut back by adding exhaust Ducati 969. Another thing if a minimoto sokbreker position in Australia was not too collapsed. For each, he wore a Honda CBR150 for more tender than the original.

Also interesting, given condoms tank-lid can be opened by pressing the button. According to Irfandi, he uses the power window car fitted with a small shock. By pressing once, the condom could be opened up to 45 degrees.

A big fan of classic cars like you should think about buying one. This guide will be helpful to you, whether you want an old rebuilt car, or you want a garage centerpiece.

Try going to an auto salvage lot. The best way to find a restorable antique car is to look in the local junkyard. For old and new models of cars, places like this are, most of the time, well stocked. If you are not located near a salvage yard, you should consider calling ahead of time to request information about current stock. You can enjoy browsing the collections. At the same time you may get clues about your restorable gem.

Go to an auction. You can buy a car that has already been restored if you dont have the time or knowledge to work on one yourself. By going to an auction for antique and collectible cars, you can expect to find many unique vehicles available for purchase. But be mindful that if you trust the work of the car to someone else, the workmanship may not be as good as if you had done it yourself. When bidding on a car you should always look it over closely before you bid.

Search for it in the daily papers. If you have some luck, you may be able to find a restorable antique car that is offered for sale in your local newspaper. Check out the classified ads in your paper, under Cars. If you are looking for antiques to fix up you may want to begin at the top of the list as they are arranged by date. You shouldnt overlook the basic such as "Auto Trader" and other publications dedicated to antique vehicles. In such papers and magazines you can find the car you want whether a perfect classic, a cheap new car or a repairable vehicle. Auto Trader is a good place to search for cars - you can even search by area and vintage date. This should be beneficial to you in your search for older cars near your home.

Place an advertisement for what youre looking for. Dont give up if you dont find what you are looking for in publications, just look further. Take out an ad yourself describing what vehicle you want. You should always say up front what you want in a car such as the age and if it is restored or not, along with the basic kind. You might grab the attention of an antique car owner who is looking to sell a part of his automotive collection.

Get on the internet. The easiest way to find a restorable antique car is to look online. You will be able to use eBay Motors, where many vehicles are sold each day. You can also do a search for the exact website youre looking for which specializes in antique and collectible cars. Always try to see the car before buying it. Thats how you will be able to determine if the body of the car is solid enough to survive restoration.
